How to Measure Your Yard

Measure the length of the area

Measure the width of the area

Multiply length × width to calculate square footage

Example: 20 ft × 30 ft = 600 sq ft

Preparing Your Yard for Sod

Remove existing grass and weeds

Level and smooth soil

Add topsoil if needed

Lightly water soil before installing sod

Watering New Sod

Sod should ideally be installed the same day it is picked up or delivered.

First 2 weeks – water twice per day

Week 3 – water once per day

Week 4 – water every other day

Then transition to normal watering

Schedule may vary depending on weather and grass type.

Walking on New Sod

Avoid heavy foot traffic for about 2–3 weeks while the sod roots establish.

Installation Timing

Sod should ideally be installed the same day it is picked up or delivered.

Basic Care Tips

Water immediately after installation

Avoid mowing until sod has rooted

Avoid chemicals while sod is establishing

Keep traffic minimal during the first few weeks
